Don't understand the negative reviews. Love this place. I eat there every time I go to Leesburg. The pros ... The food is great, homemade. The service is great. Get the house special which is the ravioli. Great bread with homemade pesto and oil. Homemade Spummoni ice cream for dessert. It's family owned and it's been in business for three generations. Prices are very fair. The cons ... If you're looking for a five star, white tablecloth, candlelight dinner, no, this isn't your place. It's not fancy but it's clean and the food and service are great.

Pizza is okay, manicotti is okay. Wife loves the spaghetti. The prices are a little high. Great salads. Just an okay place overall.

We ate at the restaurant mid-week. Everyone who was having dinner were "regulars" as the hostess and waitress knew everyone. The food we had chicken cacciatore for my husband and gluten free spinach lasagna for me was great. Gluten Free food is hard to get a good flavor out of, but the bread, the lasagna, even the red velvet cup cake were excellent. The sun dried bruschetta was great! Portions are good, food came out hot and in a reasonable amount of time. The waitress was very helpful in giving descriptions of how the food was prepared. Prices were excellent - we will definitely go back. It was a pleasure speaking with the hostess and the gluten free menu was one of the larger ones I have seen since moving to Florida!

We had a great meal and wonderful service - no doubt I would go back! The bread is baked daily! I'd go back just for that! All food is prepared from scratch. The owner makes a point to walk around and visit with tables. The desserts all are wonderful, however I could make a meal from the cannoli - big enough to share, but ......

If it wasn't for the service (Kaylee sp?), I would only give it 1 Star. The food was very late coming from kitchen but we were expecting something good based on reviews. What a disappointment!! My wife's pizza was tasty but soggy and hard to cut. My chicken parm was pitiful. The chicken tasted like chalky powder and the pasta was the smallest portion I have ever seen at an Italian restaurant. This was a MAJOR disappointment!! Needless to say, unlike MacArthur, we shall NOT return!

I also disagree with the previous negative reviews but to each their own. My wife and I have eaten here twice and both times were good. The last time we had the house special and was good. Food is very hot and served with fresh bread not that left over "pizza dough" all the time stuff! They have killer all-you-can-eat pasta selections from spaghetti through fettuccine Alfredo. The service can be iffy but the place is usually running well with a woman who seems to pull them all together and run a tight ship. Overall it's just like the name implies it's a Mom & Dad restaurant! By the way when you go in, go to the register to be seated just inside the seating area!!

When the parking lot was empty at the height of a weekday lunch hour, that should have been a clue. Whatever we had was so forgettable that I'm not sure I could remember the entrees even by dinnertime. I do recall that our entrees must have been either frozen or leftover and re-heated. What should we have expected with no other diners in the place? This is a place on Highway 441 that one should NOT be tempted to even slow down for.

I just had dinner for the first time tonight and loved it. I had chicken parmesan with spaghetti, and it came quickly and tasted great. The bread served before the meal was so good - warm and soft. I had my 12 year old son with me and he was in love with it! This restaurant is close by my home and I plan on going back soon. There was a great crowd, and everyone looked satisfied with their meals. I saw another diner that received linguini with clam sauce, and the sauce looked so good - I am going to order it next time I go.

Mom and Dad mustof left the kitchen in this ho-hum eating experience. I've never had a worse tableside experience. Waitress was rude and inefficient. Mom and Dad's continues to survive, through it's inexpensive yet unimaginative menu items...In this area it seems just about anything serves as a meal...Mom and Dad's depend on that!

The food is only so-so and the waitness is a ditz. Save your money and go elsewhere.

I would beg to differ with the other two reviews. I have never had a problem at Mom and Dad's. Try their steak it's good!

Mom and Dad's is small family Italian restaurant. The Food Was Good AND I enjoyed a small restaurant sometimes. Would I come again yes . But would not make point to come again. So for me just 3 stars.

I almost want to give this place 2 stars. The decor is absolutely horrid. You walk in and feel as if you are at an old roadside diner. Owners, please do something to make it more appealing, warm and cozy. I was literally about to walk out to get a better ambiance somewhere else. You see some desserts on the counter when you walk in and they are very appetizing and appealing. Definitely home made and the carrot cake muffins were even gluten free! In fact, they have a dedicated gluten free dining menu, which is why I wanted to try this restaurant in the first place. I had the gluten free eggplant parmesan with garlic and oil gluten free pasta. It was very, very good. Other meals at our table were normal eggplant parmesan and then two past dishes. All good but not great. Not delectable enough to make you want to return. The bread was fresh and the whipped butter was appreciated. Don't know why they serve the butter in plastic throw away to-go containers. You can use a plastic ramekin instead. This place has potential and is on edge of goldmine area of the Villages. Was surprised to see they have 3 other locations too.

For those of you that wrote a positive review on this restaurant -- Are you seriously kidding me? Speaking as a professionally trained cook, tonight's dinner was the most embarrassing meal I've ever eaten at a restaurant. A meal of this caliber would never come out my own kitchen. Whomever is running the kitchen should absolutely be fired. The lasagna entrée tasted like it came from a cardboard, frozen box - completely smothered in what tasted like canned spaghetti sauce. It was one of the most disgusting things I have ever eaten. The management of this establishment should re-think how the kitchen is being run. If this restaurant continues to serve food of this low quality, they will soon be out of business. Dear Cook: Please go to cooking school. It's too bad that a 'one star' rating is the lowest I can give. I will not be recommending this restaurant to any of my acquaintances. YUCK.

While on vacation we ate here and the food was really good. I was surprised to see they had cannelloni on the menu, I LOVE cannelloni! So, needless to say, I had the cannelloni and my husband had veal scaloppini. We shared some garlic cheese bread as well. All of the food items we had were delicious and the service was excellent as well. We will definitely go back the next time we are in that area.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.
